Topic: Delay compensation

I have a big project that is failing to compile due to delay compensation blowing out DSP memory.
Are there any tricks to optimising this, apart from following every signal path, and trying to minimise IDAB and XDAB jumps?
What does the average size, vectors in advanced project properties mean?
I tried reducing it, but it didn't seem to have an effect.
I've seen the post from cwa from last year, but it doesn't help me much. Has the documentation mentioned come to light?
