As the present design of the Nion allows TOO free a flow of air into the front panel, it would serve the unit's operational reliability in the long term if some kind of suitable/replaceable foam filter be designed and fitted right behind the Nion's front panel air vents. This would certainly help the units installed in difficult environments.
Just a simple feature request to help enhance the product's stability !!

We've debated this quite a bit over the years. I tend to agree with you. However, the are problems with filters.
If they are not cleaned on a regular basis, they can clog up and cause the unit to over heat.
Also, filters do interfere with airflow. With filters, the units would not be able to tolerate as hot an environment and would run their fans faster. Faster fans are noisier and wear out sooner.
