Topic: +24V low: voltage out of range

See attached image. Is this indicating a failing power supply? System muted when it dropped.

Re: +24V low: voltage out of range

Thank you very much for the reply. This nion was actually recently purchased and installed around a month ago.

I did reach out to tech support, and they asked that same exact question - and gave us the following info:

This isn't a critical problem with the hardware.  The last run of NIONs had a part change on the main board which is the IC that does the voltage monitoring.  It works a little more efficient than the old part did so it is reporting quicker than the voltage rails have time to register at times.  You will notice it recovers within 2 seconds.  The software people are implementing a code fix in the next release of Nware v1.7.3 and it is currently in beta testing.  As long as you are not noticing a problem with any audio dropout then it is ok to continue running as is.

Unfortunately, it was muting our (rather large) system, causing abrupt muting for short periods. We did swap it with our older spare to alleviate the issue.

Thanks again!

Re: +24V low: voltage out of range

It would be great to get clarification on this:
Is +24V out of range just a warning, or should it cause a mute as described?
Which products have this part change?
When is 1.7.3 due?

Re: +24V low: voltage out of range

It has for the most part been just a warning and only occurring during
a firmware update or NION reboot.  It has been virtually transparent and
only recognized when viewing the remote log.  It had not been confirmed
that it caused an operating system to mute, but this would be resolved
with the firmware update. The mainboard for the NX, N3, and
N6 have the part change.  Please contact mediamatrix tech support
for software update information.

Thanks

Answering the last part of the question;

Look for the next version of NWare late this year...

You will be surprised and excited as you learn more about the next version.
