Topic: PWM Output to Drive 0-10V Device

Has anyone used the PWM outputs of the NION to drive an analog 0-10V device?

So far I have attempted to build a simple single order RC filter to convert the PWM digital to analog.  It somewhat works, but only within a limited range. For example the lowest voltage I get is 6.6V (PWM knob set to .005, and the highest voltage is 11.77V (PWM Knob set to .5).

Any other suggestions for getting an analog 0-10V output from the NION would be appreciated.

Thanks,
JRG

I found an oscilloscope and discovered the PWM is an open collector.  The addition of a 500 ohm pull-up resistor did the trick.

Very cool!

Would you be game to share a simple schematic of the circuit you ended up with? I'm sure this would be of interest to other people.
