Topic: Functional diagram or schematic?

Hi again,

As I create the new help file, I'm going to have to create or update the device diagrams.

Traditionally, these have been called schematics, but as we know, some device dialogs have a schematic tab that is related, but separate, from the overall diagram.

I'd like to be able to refer to the schematic tab in some topics (for instance, in order to tell the user how to change the sample rate in the detector controls that are on the schematic page), as well as providing a "device schematic" to sum up how the device works visually.

So, I'm wondering if I could rename the existing "schematic" diagram to "functional diagram" to try to reduce confusion.

Any objections?

I like the way you're thinking: consistency!!
The distinction between "schematic" and "functional diagram" works for me.

I think your idea is pretty groovy.
