Topic: Daylight Saving Patch

We've created a firmware patch to address the US daylight saving time change.  You can get it here:

http://www.peaveyoxford.com/NWare_1.2.6_Patch_A.zip

This is a patch to the 1.2.6 NWare release.  This patch consists of new firmware for the NION that addresses the change in the start and end dates of Daylight Saving Time in North America.

Beginning in 2007, Daylight Saving Time was brought forward by 3 or 4 weeks in Spring and extended by one week in the Fall.  Daylight Saving Time begins for most of the United States at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March. Time will revert to standard time at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November.

Installing this patch is only necessary if your system is installed in an affected region and:

You are concerned about accurate times in the log files OR you have scheduled events that depend on a correct time of day.

To install, copy the .gz file to your firmware directory.  For a typical installation, this is in:

C:\Program Files\MediaMatrix\NWare 1.2.6\plugins\nware\firmware

Next, run NWare and select "Tools/Update Target Firmware".  Right click on the NION(s) you wish to update and choose "select for update".  Make sure that "release_1.2.6_patch_a" is selected in the "Available Firmware" box.  Click on "Update Selected" to perform the update.

You can confirm that the patch was properly applied by checking the Versions page on the NION front panel.  The Firmware should be reported as RELEASE_1.2.6A

If you apply this patch before 2am, Oct 28 2007, or after 2am, Nov 4 2007, you are done.  If you apply it between these dates, the unit will think it has already adjusted and fail to adjust on Nov 4.  To fix this, reset the time to a summer date (Jun 21 for example), then reset it to the correct time.
