Topic: ONE More x-frame 88 question line noise.

Ok for some reason I get tons of line noise when the plasma TV in my apartment is turned on, they are both on the same breaker.  I don't know if some of my filter caps are drying out, but it would seem to me that this shouldn't be happening. If I remove the phoenix connector, the noise is still there.  So its not RFI on my audio source.

Any suggestions??  Ground Drop didn't seem to do anything.

Re: ONE More x-frame 88 question line noise.

This is an old thread, I realize, but connecting unbalanced lines to balanced i/o can result in grounding problems that can give you bad dreams at night. It's not always as simple as the manual says. Remember, the "ground" conductor on an unbalanced line isn't always at ground potential. Most consumer electronics only have a two prong power plug. Ground doesn't even exist on such equipment. There are remedies for the noise generated by lack of ground, but it's a tech topic that probably wouldn't fit here.

Then there's neutral contamination, but that's another matter.
