The Peak detector shows the power used to deliver the peak input signal. It is similar to the RMS detector because the meter shows overall power level; however, it surpasses the relative power in most instances, so it does not accurately show system load in the same way that the RMS detector does.
The Peak detector detects the positive peaks in the input signal(s) and incorporates an exponential signal decay, up to 67% before the next peak is detected.
